Light to moderate rain, thundershowers likely over parts of country

DHAKA, June 4, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today forecasted light to moderate rain or thundershowers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty wind at different parts of the country for the next 24 hours beginning this morning.

Light to moderate rain or thunder showers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country, the forecast added.

Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Light to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Khulna division and the districts of Rajshahi and Pabna and it may continue.

Country's maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded 38.6 degrees Celsius at Khulna in Khulna division while today's minimum temperature was recorded 22.7 degrees Celsius at Dimla in Rangpur division. 

The highest rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am today was recorded at 63 millimeters (mm) at Kutubdia in Chattogram division.

The sun sets at 6.43pm today and rises at 5.11am tomorrow in the capital.
