RAB intelligence wing worked as killing force in enforced disappearances: Alam

DHAKA, June 4, 2025 (BSS) - Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam today said the intelligence wing of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) had worked as a killing force in the incidents of enforced disappearances.

He made the remark at a press briefing at Foreign Service Academy here, revealing the findings of a report on enforced disappearances submitted to Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus today. 

Alam said the report depicts how people were made disappeared and how many of them were killed during the reign of ousted Sheikh Hasina government. 

The Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances has so far identified about 1350 cases of enforced disappearances, while it is finding new cases every day, he said. 

The press secretary said the commission has scrutinized 1,350 cases of enforced disappearances. 

Chief Adviser's Deputy Press Secretary Abdul Kalam Azad Majumder and Senior Assistant Press Secretary Foyez Ahammad were also present at the press briefing.
