JHENAIDAH, June 4, 2025 (BSS) - Attorney General Md. Asaduzzaman today said the spirit of the July Uprising is to the spirit of establishing a society without discrimination.
"Awami League established fascism through disappearances, murders, litigation, tender trading and the destruction of the election system. They are lost today. If the leaders and activists of the political party follow the path of the Awami League again, history will not forgive them either," he said.
He made these remarks while addressing a commemoration and Eid material distribution ceremony for the family members of the martyrs and injured of the July 2024 mass uprising held at Johan Dream Valley Park auditorium here.
Md. Asaduzzaman said Sheikh Hasina's fascist government had disappeared 700 people after 2008. In the last 16 years, about 4,500 people have been killed without trial in the country, he added.
He said, "Today, they are fleeing the country. After the July Uprising, you who got the opportunity to speak, to do politics without fear; you will not walk the path of the Awami League. History will never forgive you if you walk the path of Awami League."
The Attorney General said, "No one has been a victim of disappearance since this government took power, and the police have not filed a single missing person case. The spirit of the July Uprising is the spirit of building a just society without discrimination and building Bangladesh."
District BNP President Advocate MA Majid, District President of Gana Adhikar Parishad lecturer Sakhawat Hossain, District President of the Islamic Andolan HM Momtazul Karim, President of the Jhenaidah Chamber of Commerce Md. Moazzem Hossain and Consultant of Sadar Hospital Dr. Md. Monirul Islam, among others, addressed the event with central coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement in the chair.
