DHAKA June 5, 2025 (BSS) - After a month of the busiest time for family members, BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman's wife Dr. Zubaida Rahman will leave Dhaka for London this morning to celebrate Eid-ul-Azha with her husband and daughter in London.

She is scheduled to leave for London on a Qatar Airlines flight at 11:00 am today.

Rahman has already left for Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport from her Gulshan residence.

Earlier, she returned to the country after 17 years with BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.

Zubaida Rahman left Dhaka with Tarique Rahman on September 11, 2008.
On September 26 of the same year, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed a case against them at Kafrul Police Station on charges of acquiring wealth disproportionate to their known source.

A Dhaka court sentenced Zubaida Rahman to 3 years in prison and a fine of Tk 3.5 million in the case. However, her sentence was suspended after the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government in the student-public uprising last year.

Zubaida Rahman earned her MBBS degree from Dhaka Medical College. Later, she studied medicine at Imperial College, London, and did her MSc with record marks and a gold medal.

Before joining the health cadre, Dr. Zubaida got married with Tarique Rahman on February 3, 1994, topping the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination in 1995. Tarique Rahman and Dr. Zubaida have a daughter named Zaima Rahman who completed her Bar-at-Law degree in the UK and lives there with her parents.
