Tourist drowns in Jaflong

SYLHET, June 11, 2025 (BSS) - A tourist died being drowned at Piyain River of the Jaflong here today.

The deceased was Mahin Ahmed, 16, son of Jamil Ahmed of Sahidpara Village of Bayezid Bostami thana in Chattogram. 

Acting OC of Gowainghat police station Sarkar Tofail Ahmed confirmed the death, saying Mahin came to Jaflong with his family for visiting purpose.

"Mahin drowned nearly 1.00 pm while taking bathe in the Piyain river. After searching more than an hour, boatmen recovered his body," he added.
