KHULNA, June 12, 2025 (BSS) - Secretary at the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Mahbuba Farzana today said that now it is time for self-purification following the July uprising and urged public officials to perform their duties with honesty and impartiality.

"We are standing on the blood of our children who sacrificed their lives during the anti-discrimination movement. After the July uprising, it is time for self-purification. Keeping this in mind, we must perform our government duties with integrity and neutrality," she said.

She made these remarks during an exchange of views with officials at the conference room of Bangladesh Betar's Khulna center, following her visit there.

Highlighting the need for institutional responsibility, she said, "We must be more honest now. We should regard the institutions we work for as our own. If we do so, we will naturally act with integrity and carry out our responsibilities sincerely."

Laying emphasis on the importance of open communication, mutual respect, and countering misinformation, she said, "We must have the courage to boldly speak what is right and wrong. There must be mutual respect and tolerance among us. Betar has the potential to play a special role in preventing the spread of misinformation among marginalized communities."
