ICT instructs to submit probe report on July uprising victim Ridoy on Aug 17

DHAKA, June 15, 2025 (BSS) - The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) today instructed the prosecution to submit the probe report on college student Ridoy murder in Konabari, Gazipur, on August 17.

The ICT headed by Justice Md Golam Mortoza Majumder today fixed the date as the prosecution authority submitted an application seeking two more months for carrying out detailed investigation into the case.

Chief Prosecutor Mohammad Tajul Islam led the prosecution along with prosecutors Gazi Monwar Hussain Tamim and S M Moinul Karim while advocate Delwar Hossain was present on behalf of the accused persons.

Ridoy Miah, 20, a student of class-XI of Hemnagar Degree College of Tangail was shot dead at Konabari area in Gazipur district during the last year’s mass upsurge on August 5. He used to drive an auto-rickshaw in the area side by side with his study. 

Md Ibrahim, a cousin of the deceased, later filed a murder case with Konabari Thana. He also filed another case with the ICT in connection with the murder.

The prosecution also produced former officer-in-charge (OC) of Konabari Thana K M Ashraf Uddin, Inspector of the Gazipur District Detective Branch (DB) Md Shafiqul Islam and constables Akram Hossain, Fahim Hassan and Mahmudul Hassan Sajib before the tribunal today.
