Woman dies in Jhenaidah road crash

JHENAIDAH, Nov 9, 2025 (BSS) - A woman was killed and two others were injured in a road accident on the Jhenaidah-Harinakundu road in Harinakundu upazila of the district this morning.

The deceased was Sohagi Khatun, 49, wife of late Umbat Ali of Shakharidaha village of the upazila.

The accident occurred in front of Haji Arshad Ali College around 8 am when a Dhaka-bound bus of 'Golden Line' hit a easy bike from behind as its driver lost control over the steering, leaving easy bike passenger Sohagi dead on the spot and two others injured, said Shahidul Islam Howlader, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Harinakundu Police Station.

The injured including the easy bike driver were taken to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital.
