DHAKA, June 16, 2025 (BSS)- Water levels at 28 river stations monitored by
Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rise while 88
stations recorded fall.
Among the 116 monitored river stations, water levels at three stations have
remained steady while no stations are flowing above the danger level, a
bulletin issued by the FFWC said here today.
The water levels of all major rivers are flowing below the danger level, read
the bulletin.
The water level of the Teesta River is rising but remains below the danger
level. This condition may remain stable for the next 3 days.
The water levels of the Muhuri and Gomti rivers in the Chattogram division
are rising. In the basins of the Gomti, Muhuri, Feni, Halda, Sangu, and
Matamuhuri rivers, there is a likelihood of moderate to moderately heavy
rainfall on Day 1, moderately heavy to heavy rainfall on Day 2, and heavy to
very heavy rainfall on Day 3. The water levels of these rivers may remain
stable on Day 1 and increase on Days 2 and 3, but are likely to continue
flowing below the danger level, it added.
The water level of the Surma River is decreasing, while the water level of
the Kushiyara River is rising. The water level of the Surma River may remain
stable for the next 2 days and may increase on Day 3. On the other hand, the
water level of the Kushiyara River may continue to rise over the next 3 days,
though both rivers are expected to flow below the danger level. In this
basin, moderate to moderately heavy rainfall is likely on the next 2 days,
and heavy to very heavy rainfall on Day 3.
The water levels of the Brahmaputra-Jamuna Rivers are decreasing. This
decreasing trend may continue for the next 2 days, remain stable on Day 3,
and increase during the following 2 days. However, the water levels are
expected to stay below the danger level.
The water levels of the Ganges-Padma Rivers are also decreasing. This trend
may continue for the next 3 days and remain stable for the subsequent 2 days,
with flows remaining below the danger level.
