ACC launches probe against BD’s ex-HC to UK Muna over laundering Tk 2,000cr

DHAKA, June 16, 2025 (BSS) - The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has launched an investigation against former high commissioner of Bangladesh to the United Kingdom (UK) Saida Muna Tasneem and her husband Tawhidul Islam Chowdhury over allegations of laundering around Tk 2,000 crore. 

ACC Chairman Dr Mohammad Abdul Momen disclosed the information to the journalists at a regular press briefing at its headquarters today.
 
Saida Muna’s husband Tawhidul Islam Chowdhury is also the chairman of the Generation Next Fashions Limited.

The ACC chairman said that the accused persons in connivance with each other misappropriated and laundered Tk 2000 crore to abroad taking loans from different commercial banks against 12 commercial establishments, including General Next Fashions Limited.
