Two dengue patients die in last 24hrs

DHAKA, June 27, 2025 (BSS) - Two dengue patients died and 159 have been hospitalized across the country during the last 24 hours till this morning.

"During the period, 107 patients were hospitalized in Barishal division (out of city corporation) while 11 were hospitalized in Chattogram, 12 in Dhaka division, 15 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), six in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), six in Rajshahi and two were admitted to different hospitals in Sylhet division," said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of cases rose to 9,222 while 40 deaths from dengue, the mosquito-borne disease, were reported this year.

Last year, the total number of cases rose to 1,01,214, while 575 deaths from the dengue disease were reported, the statement added.
