ICJ to hand down landmark climate ruling on July 23: court

THE HAGUE, July 7, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - The top United Nations court said Monday it would hand down a historic ruling on July 23 laying out a global legal blueprint for tackling climate change.

ICJ president Iwasawa Yuji will read out the advisory opinion on the obligations of states to curub greenhouse gas emissions and the consequences of harming the climate system, The International Court of Justice said in a statement.
