Zika virus detected in two persons in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, July 8, 2025 (BSS) - Zika virus has been detected in two persons for the first time in Chattogram.
 
Civil Surgeon Dr. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said, "The Zika virus has been detected in the bodies of two people at the city's Epic Healthcare Lab. We have collected their detailed information. Their treatment and necessary measures will be taken from today."

He said, "We have already informed the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IDCR) about the matter. The results and decision of the next test depend on the directions of the IDCR."

He urged the public to be aware of preventing mosquito-borne diseases.
