Health officials report 337 fresh cases of dengue inflection, 2 deaths overnight

DHAKA, July 10, 2025 (BSS) – Health officials today said they recorded 337 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts killing at least two persons in the past 24 hours with most patients reporting in health facilities in southwestern Barishal region.

“During the period, (of the 337) 101 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division” which appeared to have been the worst victim of the mosquito borne disease, a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.

It said among the rests, 58 were hospitalised in Chattogram division, 41 in Dhaka division excluding the capital, 50 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 26 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 28 in Khulna division, five in Mymensingh division, 27 in Rajshahi division and one in Sylhet Division.

Since the start of the dengue onslaughts Bangladesh this year witnessed so far 54 deaths while the disease inflicted 13,931.

The DGHS, however, said 366 patients were discharged from different hospitals across the country after their recovery.

The dengue last year claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in the country.
