Two dengue patients die, 321 hospitalized in 24hrs

DHAKA, July 16, 2025 (BSS) – Two dengue patients died and 321 have been hospitalized across the country in the last 24 hours till this morning.

"During the period, 110 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division while 31 were hospitalized in Chattogram, nine in Dhaka division, 27 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), 47 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), 27 in Khulna, 10 in Mymensingh, 57 in Rajshahi division, two in Rangpur and one was admitted to different hospitals in Sylhet division," said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of cases rose to 15,960, while 60 deaths from dengue, the mosquito-borne disease, were reported this year.

During the last 24 hours, 288 patients were discharged from different hospitals across the country.

Last year, the total number of cases rose to 1,01,214, while 575 deaths from the dengue disease were reported, the statement added.
