3 dengue patients die, 444 hospitalized in 24hrs

DHAKA, July 22, 2025 (BSS) - Three dengue patients died and 444 have been hospitalized across the country in the last 24 hours till this morning.

"During the period, 127 patients were hospitalized in Barishal division while 51 were hospitalized in Chattogram, 68 in Dhaka division, 40 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), 81 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), 33 in Khulna division, eight in Mymensingh division, 29 in Rajshahi division, five in Rangpur division and two in Sylhet division, " said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of cases rose to 18,026 while 65 deaths from dengue, the mosquito-borne disease, were reported this year.

During the last 24 hours, 402 patients were discharged from different hospitals across the country.

Last year, the total number of cases rose to 1,01,214, while 575 deaths from the dengue disease were reported, the statement added.
