DHAKA, July 31, 2025 (BSS) – The Ministry of Land (MoL) has taken an initiative to change the designations of field-level land officials.

On July 27, a new proposal regarding this matter was sent by the MoL to the Ministry of Public Administration as per decision taken in an inter-ministerial meeting on January 30 last. 

According to the proposal the designations of the Union Land Assistant Officer and Union Land Sub-Assistant Officer will be changed as Land Assistant Officer and Land Sub-Assistant Officer respectively.

By changing the titles in the recruitment rules, the same officials can be posted across union, municipal, or metropolitan land offices, Deputy Secretary of MoL Mohammad Tofazzal Hossain said.

It will help resolve the confusion or complications arising from the existing titles, while no additional financial burden will be required for salaries and allowances, he said.
