Journalist Abdul Halim dies

DHAKA, July 31, 2025 (BSS) - Journalist and Jatiya Press Club (JPC) member Abdul Halim died of old-age complications at his residence in the city today. He was 85.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter, and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.

Halim started his career at the weekly newspaper Janata in 1966. He served as a news editor at the daily Janakantha until his death.

His Namaz-e-Janaza was held at Khilgaon Shahi Mosque, and he will be buried at Taltola graveyard.

JPC President Hasan Hafiz and General Secretary Ayub Bhuiyan expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Abdul Halim.

In a message of condolence, they prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
