Dhaka, August 2, 2025 (BSS) - The United States and Bangladesh have successfully concluded the joint military exercise Tiger Shark, aimed at deepening bilateral defence cooperation and enhancing regional security under the Indo-Pacific framework.
Held in close coordination between the United States Indo-Pacific Command and the Bangladesh Armed Forces, the exercise featured a range of integrated training activities such as medical response, joint patrolling, marksmanship, close-quarters combat, swimming and diving, and tactical simulations, said a US media note here today.
“This joint military exercise reaffirms our commitment to a safer, stronger and more prosperous Indo-Pacific. It also symbolizes the strong U.S.-Bangladesh partnership,” said U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Ambassador Tracey Jacobson.
The exercise, which brought together military personnel from both countries, also included subject matter expert exchanges and joint planning sessions to enhance operational interoperability and readiness to face evolving regional challenges.
Tiger Shark exercise reflects the enduring commitment of both nations to peace, stability, and a rules-based order in the Indo-Pacific region, said the US embassy.
According to the Embassy, such engagements serve to strengthen mutual trust and capacity between the two armed forces and contribute to a more secure maritime and regional environment.
The U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, which oversees American military activities across the Asia-Pacific, plays a critical role in working with regional partners to uphold peace, deter aggression, and ensure open sea lanes in one of the world’s most strategic regions.
