Two more die, 395 new dengue cases registered overnight

DHAKA, Aug 4, 2025 (BSS) - Health officials today said they recorded 395 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts killing at least two persons in the past 24 hours.
 
"During the period, (of the 395) 58 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 61 in Chattogram division, 69 in Dhaka division excluding the capital, 50 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 35 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 56 in Khulna division, six in Mymensingh division, 48 in Rajshahi division, nine in Rangpur division and four in Sylhet division," a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.
 
Since the start of the dengue onslaughts Bangladesh this year witnessed so far 86, deaths while the disease infected 22,065.
 
The DGHS, however, said 493 patients were discharged from different hospitals across the country after their recovery.
 
The dengue last year claimed 575 lives and infected 1,01,214 people in the country.
