One dies of dengue in last 24 hrs

DHAKA, August 11, 2025 (BSS) - One person died of dengue fever in the country and 434 new dengue cases were recorded in the last 24 hours, according to a press release issued today by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). 

Of the 434 new dengue patients, 62 are in Barisal Division (outside the City Corporation), 67 are in Chittagong Division (outside the City Corporation), and 78 are in Dhaka Division (outside the City Corporation).

In the capital, 39 cases were reported under Dhaka North City Corporation and 93 under Dhaka South City Corporation.

In other divisions, 32 cases were reported in Khulna Division (outside the City Corporation), 8 in Mymensingh Division (outside the City Corporation), 53 in Rajshahi Division (outside the City Corporation), and 2 in Sylhet Division (outside the City Corporation).

During the period, 555 people were discharged from hospitals.

A total of 24,617 people have been admitted to hospitals due to dengue this year. Of the infected, 58.7 percent are men and 41.3 percent are women. A total of 23,263 people have been discharged from hospitals this year, while 102 people have died from dengue so far.
