Typhoid vaccination campaign 2025 ends in Khulna

KHULNA, Aug 14, 2025 (BSS) – The two-day long training workshop on “Typhoid Vaccination Campaign 2025” was held today at the City Health Building on Sher-e-Bangla Road in Khulna. 

KCC’s Chief Executive Officer (Additional Charge), Sharif Asif Rahman, presided over the closing ceremony and addressed as the chief guest. 

Organized by the Health Department of Khulna City Corporation (KCC), chief revenue officer Rahima Sultana Bushra, chief waste management officer and executive magistrate Kohinur Jahan and authorized ward officials participated in the training.

Under the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, a single dose of TCV vaccine will be administered from September 1 to all children aged 9 months to under-15 years to prevent typhoid fever. 

The first phase of this two day training workshop began on Wednesday to ensure the effective implementation of the campaign.

Dr. Najmus Ahsan Sojib, Surveillance Immunization Officer of the World Health Organization, and Dr. Tapas Kumar, National EPI Specialist of UNICEF, conducted the training programme as trainers.
