One more dies of Dengue, 466 hospitalized in 24 hours

DHAKA, Aug 17, 2025 (BSS) - One more death was reported from dengue in the past 24 hours while 466 new patients have been admitted to different hospitals across the country due to the fever.

Of the newly-hospitalized patients, 74 are from Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) while 57 from Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), according to a press release from the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

A total of 60 patients were hospitalized from Dhaka Division (outside the city corporation) while 83 from Barishal Division, 60 from Chattogram Division, 47 from Khulna Division, 66 from Rajshahi Division, eight from Mymensingh Division, five from Rangpur Division and six from Sylhet Division.

During the same period, 441 patients have been discharged from different hospitals across the country.

So far in 2025, a total of 26,374 dengue patients have been hospitalized. The total number of dengue-related deaths this year stands at 105 while 25,011 patients have recovered.
