380 fresh cases of dengue reported

DHAKA, Aug 18, 2025 (BSS) - Health authorities today said 380 new dengue cases were recorded across the country in the past 24 hours.

"Of the 380 patients, 67 were hospitalised in Barishal division, 70 in Chattogram division, 66 in Dhaka division excluding the capital, 74 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), 31 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), 25 in Khulna division, seven in Mymensingh division, 34 in Rajshahi division, four in Rangpur division and two in Sylhet division," said a statement of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

So far this year, dengue has claimed 105 lives and infected 25,376 people, the DGHS added.

Last year, the mosquito-borne disease caused 575 deaths and infected 1,01,214 people in the country.
