Health officials report 356 fresh cases of dengue inflection overnight

DHAKA, Aug 20, 2025 (BSS) - Health officials today said they recorded 356 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in the past 24 hours.

"During the period, (of the 356) 60 patients were hospitalized in Barishal division, 68 in Chattogram division, 60 in Dhaka division excluding the capital, 71 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 46 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 20 in Khulna division, four in Mymensingh division, 20 in Rajshahi division and seven in Sylhet division," a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.

Since the start of the dengue onslaughts Bangladesh this year witnessed so far 105 deaths while inflicted 27,471 people.

The dengue last year claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in the country.
