BMU aims for world-class outpatient services: VC

DHAKA, August 20, 2025 (BSS) — Bangladesh Medical University (BMU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Md Shahinul Alam emphasized the need for cooperation, professionalism and compassion to elevate BMU's outpatient department (OPD) to a model of world-class healthcare.

Speaking at a view-sharing session titled “World-Class Healthcare: Current and Possible” at the university’s A Block Auditorium here, Dr Alam called upon all medical officers, staff and employees to play a proactive role in advancing OPD services.
 
He stressed the importance of patient-centred care and urged teamwork across all levels to improve service delivery.

The event brought together key university officials, including Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr. Md. Abul Kalam Azad, Treasurer Professor Dr. Nahrin Akhtar, Registrar Professor Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam and Director (Hospital) Brigadier  General  Abu Noman Mohammad Mosleh Uddin, among others.

Organized by the university administration, the meeting focused on enhancing the quality and accessibility of services in OPD-1 and OPD-2, engaging medical officers, senior staff nurses, administrative staff and outsourcing employees.
