Three more die of dengue, 412 hospitalized in 24hrs

DHAKA, Aug 25, 2025 (BSS) - Dengue continues to take a heavy toll in the country while three more lives lost to the viral disease in the past 24 
hours. 

In addition, 412 new cases have been reported with patients admitted to different hospitals across the country. 

This update was disclosed in a press release from the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services today.

According to the release, the distribution of hospitalized patients includes 102 from Barishal division (outside the City Corporation), 77 from Chattogram division (outside the City Corporation), 51 from Dhaka division (outside the City Corporation), 69 from Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), 53 from Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), 26 from Khulna division (outside the City Corporation), four from Mymensingh division (outside the City Corporation) 
and 30 from Rajshahi division (outside the City Corporation).

Despite the alarming rise in hospitalizations, 381 dengue patients were discharged in the last 24 hours.
 
A total of 27,617 patients have now recovered and been released from hospitals across the country.

This year, the total number of dengue infections has risen to 29,044, where 59.3 percent is men and 40.7 percent is women.

In comparison, the country reported 1,01,214 dengue infections and 575 deaths in 2024.
