Online land management reduced fake registration: Land Secretary

DHAKA, Aug 25, 2025 (BSS)- Land Ministry’s Senior Secretary ASM Saleh Ahmed has said the fake land registration and fraudulence have significantly reduced after introducing the online land management.

“Due to online registration and e-mutation system, ownership information is updated automatically, which greatly reduced the chance of producing fake documents and helped preventing land-related crimes,” he said.

The land secretary was speaking at the 77th team meeting in the ministry conference room here today.

He said land service digitization team has been formed as per the instructions of the Chief Adviser and this team is reviewing the department-wise work and giving report every week.
 
The senior secretary said digital services are contributing to raise the level of satisfaction among the service recipients. 

Inspection or monitoring of activities has been strengthened everywhere from the urban areas to rural level, he noted.
 
He warned the officials against any dishonest practice in their duties or harassment of the service seekers saying stern action will be taken against such practices. 
  
Providing people-friendly land services is the prime and foremost goal of the Land Ministry, he added.
 
The government will appoint a panel of lawyers to deal with the cases having interest of the government, he said.
 
Meanwhile regular mobile courts are being operated and fines are being imposed to stop illegal sand and soil extraction, the meeting was also informed.
