DHAKA, Aug 26, 2025 (BSS) - Twenty four people have been sentenced to various terms of imprisonment in the Special Metropolitan Magistrate Court under the Mirpur Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) for their involvement in various crimes.
 
Special Metropolitan Magistrate Md. Bilal Hossain awarded the sentences against the individuals for committing crimes including drug trafficking, mobile snatching, theft, and involvement in anti-social activities, said a DMP press release.
 
The mobile court conducted raids in the capital's Mirpur Model, Darussalam, Kafrul, Bhashantek, Rupnagar, Shahali and Pallabi police stations.
 
Crimes such as theft, snatching, drugs, eve-teasing and illegal occupation on the streets are being controlled in Dhaka metropolis through regular summary trials.
 
As a result, the victims are getting judicial services quickly and within a short time.
