DHAKA, Aug 27, 2025 (BSS) - The Election Commission (EC) has disposed 1,893 demarcation disputes of the Jatiya Sangsad constituencies in the last four days through public hearing ahead of planned national polls in February, commission officials said here today.

They said public hearings were underway over the demarcation disputes where concerned candidates came up with claims and objections ahead of the 13th parliamentary elections.

An EC official familiar with the process said 260 claims and objections of 18 constituencies in 12 districts of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Faridpur and Sylhet regions were resolved on the fourth day today.

He said the hearings continued from 10 am to 5 pm with Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin in the chair in presence of election commissioners and EC’s senior secretary.

The officials said the intending poll contenders and rival contestants and their lawyers presented their cases relating to the claims and objections over constituency boundaries.
