DHAKA, Aug 27, 2025 (BSS) - A high-level delegation from Bangladesh's National Defence College (NDC), now on an official visit to Mexico at the invitation of the Mexican government, visited Bangladesh Embassy in Mexico City on Tuesday.

Bangladesh Ambassador to Mexico Mushfiqur Fazal Ansari welcomed the delegation and briefed them on the Embassy's ongoing diplomatic, economic and cultural engagements, according to a message received here today.

It said the visit is expected to further strengthen the existing friendly relations and broaden cooperation between Bangladesh and Mexico.

"I firmly believe this visit will enhance mutual understanding and further consolidate our long-standing partnership with Mexico," Ambassador Ansari said in his speech.

He praised the NDC's contribution, saying, "Since its inception, NDC has played a vital role in developing both military and civilian leadership in national security, strategy and development. Its motto, 'Knowledge is Security', is preparing our future leaders to be more equipped for the international stage."

On the occasion, a presentation titled "Bangladesh-Mexico Bilateral Relations: Partnership for Mutual Development" was delivered by Head of Chancery Abdullah Al Farhad.

The presentation outlined five decades of progress in bilateral cooperation, the signing of various MoUs, and potential partnerships in trade, investment, defense, agriculture, disaster management, air services, and multilateral platforms.

It was also highlighted that Bangladesh's exports to Mexico reached USD 716 million by mid-2025-an increase of USD 90 million in just six months-making Mexico one of Bangladesh's most important trading partners in Latin America.

The delegation was led by Rear Admiral A K M Zakir Hossain and Air Vice Marshal M Mustafizur Rahman.
