Bangladesh, Nepal explore avenues to boost trade, economic ties

DHAKA, Aug 27, 2025 (BSS) – Bangladesh Ambassador to Nepal Md Shafiqur Rahman today held a meeting with Sujeev Shakya, Chair of the Nepal Economic Forum (NEF), Nepal’s leading policy think tank, in Kathmandu when they discussed ways to expand bilateral trade and business engagements.

During the meeting at the NEF office, both sides exchanged views on means to augment economic collaboration and deepen the existing ties between Bangladesh and Nepal, according to a message received here from Kathmandu.
 
Ambassador Rahman stressed Bangladesh’s commitment to enhancing regional cooperation and underlined the potential of increased private sector partnerships, particularly in trade, investment and connectivity.

The discussions reflected the growing interest of both countries to broaden their economic partnership in line with their shared development goals.
