Bangladesh, Nepal business leaders discuss ways to boost bilateral trade

DAHKA, Aug 28, 2025 (BSS) – A delegation of the Nepal Foreign Trade Association (NFTA), led by its President Shiv Kumar Agarwal and Secretary General Jayant Kumar Agrawal, called on Bangladesh Ambassador to Nepal Md. Shafiqur Rahman at the embassy premises this afternoon in Kathmandu.

During the meeting, the NFTA leaders briefed the Ambassador on the Association’s initiatives and activities in facilitating Nepal’s foreign trade with different countries, including Bangladesh, according to a message receive here. 

Bangladesh envoy, in his remarks, underscored the opportunities and challenges of bilateral trade between Bangladesh and Nepal, stressing the need to overcome existing barriers to expand economic cooperation.

He urged the Nepali side to explore, identify and seize the opportunities from mutual trade collaboration for the greater benefit of the two countries. 

The embassy would continue to act as a bridge to connect businesses and entrepreneurs of Bangladesh and Nepal, said the ambassador.  

The envoy also assured the delegation of the embassy’s full support in strengthening business cooperation through enhanced people-to-people (P2P) and business-to-business (B2B) connectivity.
