DHAKA, Aug 28, 2025 (BSS) - Health officials today said they recorded 432 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in the past 24 hours.

"During the period, (of the 432) 86 patients were hospitalized in Barishal division, 70 in Chattogram division, 68 in Dhaka division excluding the capital, 90 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 52 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 30 in Mymensingh division, 31 in Rajshahi division and five in Sylhet division, a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.

Since the start of the dengue onslaughts Bangladesh this year witnessed so far 118 deaths while the disease inflicted 30,376.

The dengue last year claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in the country.
