National Consensus Commission’s meeting held

DHAKA, Aug 28, 2025 (BSS) - A meeting of the National Consensus Commission was held in the meeting room of the commission office today.

The meeting continued the unfinished discussion that began the previous day on the opinions received from various political parties on the consolidated draft of the July National Charter. 

In addition to analyzing the opinions received from the political parties, the linguistic accuracy of the decisions included in the charter was re-evaluated. 
Besides, the members of the commission discussed the need for informal discussions with political parties in separate groups on possible ways to implement the charter.
Commission Vice-Chairman Professor Ali Riaz, members Dr. Badiul Alam Majumder, Justice Md. Emdadul Haque, Dr. Iftekharuzzaman, Safar Raj Hossain and Dr. Md. Ayub Mia and Chief Adviser’s Special Assistant Manir Haidar were present.

On August 16, the Consensus Commission sent the fully integrated draft of the "July National Charter 2025" to political parties for their opinions. 

A total of 29 political parties have provided their opinions.
