JU declares separate residential zones for male, female students ahead of JUCSU polls

JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, Aug 28, 2025 (BSS) - Jahangirnagar University 
authorities have announced specific residential zones for male and female 
students on campus ahead of the upcoming Jahangirnagar University Central 
Students' Union (JUCSU) and hall elections scheduled for September 11.

The area from the front of Kolotan Bidda Niketon to the Social Sciences 
Faculty Point, covering Nawab Faizunnesa Hall, Jahanara Imam Hall and Rokeya 
Hall, has been designated as the "female students' residential zone," 
according to a directive issued this evening by Acting Registrar ABM Azizur 
Rahman under the decision of the JUCSU Election Commission.

The zone for male students stretches from the University Club to Mir 
Mosharraf Hossain Hall, covering Al-Beruni Hall, Shaheed Salam-Barkat Hall, 
Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Hall, Bishwakabi Rabindranath Tagore Hall and 10 No 
Male Hall, the directive added.

The directive further stated that entry into these designated residential 
zones will remain strictly prohibited for anyone other than JU students and 
authorized university personnel between August 29 and September 12, 2025.
