Land secretary for transparency, accountability in rendering services

DHAKA, August 31, 2025(BSS) - Land Ministry Senior Secretary ASM Saleh Ahmed today said ensuring transparency, accountability and people-friendly environment is essential in rendering land related services.

"Ensuring people's satisfaction by rendering corruption-free and hatchel-free services are the responsibility of all under the Land Ministry," he said while addressing a workshop on 'Concept of good governance, morality and relations with values and education' at the ministry's conference room at Bangladesh Secretariat here.

The secretary said that the ministry has taken a tough stand on ensuring morality against corruption and has introduced online land management system and digital services for ensuring hatchel-free services to the people.

The morality and good governance are inter-dependent for the welfare of the country and ethical foundation is essential for establishing good governance that ensures transparency, justice and accountability in society, he added.

Saleh Ahmed urged all to maintain morality and good governance in rendering land service to the people and work with unity as a team.

The secretary urged the participants of the workshop to be equipped with efficiency, people-friendly mentality, knowledge, skill and positive minds. 

He expressed the hope that through this workshop the participants would be skilled, confident, empowered in decision making and mentally and socially capable in tackling pressure.      

The workshop was held comprising officers from all wings of the ministry where the senior secretary was the main discussant.
