KUET to celebrate founding anniversary tomorrow

KHULNA, Aug 31, 2025 (BSS) - Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) is set to celebrate its founding anniversary tomorrow with colorful programmes and festivities. 

The daylong celebration will begin at 9:30 am with a gathering in front of the administrative building, followed by flag hoisting and the formal inauguration of the University Day.

Later, a joyous rally will be brought out, starting from the administrative building and ending at the university auditorium through the Fulbarigate police box, according to a press release issued by KUET Public Relations and Media Office.

Other events include a PowerPoint presentation on "Achievements of KUET: Past, Present, and Future", a discussion session, tree plantation and fish release programmes, and an open-house exhibition of departmental laboratories. 

A friendly football match between teachers, officials, and students will be held at 4:30 pm, followed by a doa mahfil at the central mosque after Asr prayers, and a cultural programme at 6:00 pm at the auditorium. 

Rajuk Chairman and IEB President Engineer Md. Riazul Islam will attend the events as the chief guest, while KUET Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Maksudur Rahman Helali will preside over the celebrations.

Established in 1967 as Khulna Engineering College, the institution was upgraded to Bangladesh Institute of Technology (BIT) in 1986 and became KUET in 2003.
This year marks the 22nd anniversary of KUET as a full-fledged university.
