3-day Int'l short film festival concludes

DHAKA, Sept 3, 2025 (BSS) - A three-day International Short Film Festival (IIUSFF), organised by the Dhaka University Film Society, concluded today.

At the closing ceremony, Dhaka University Treasurer Professor Dr M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury addressed the event as the chief guest, a press release said.

Norwegian Ambassador to Bangladesh H+kon Arald Gulbrandsen and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Resident Representative Stefan Liller, Dhaka University Film Society President Roknuzzaman Toha and its General Secretary Apurba Das Shudra were present, among others, at the function.

Selected films were screened on the first and second days of the festival while a discussion session titled "Independent Films and Recent Market Trends" was held on the second day.
 
Filmmaker Juboraj Shamim and Producer and Editor Bayezid Khan were present at the event.

On the closing day of the festival, 57 short films, directed by Bangladeshi filmmakers, were screened. In addition, film posters and paintings on climate awareness were displayed at the event, according to the release.

Around 1,500 short films were submitted from more than 70 countries to the festival.
