Health Secy visits Burn Institute to see injured in milestone tragedy

DHAKA, September 3, 2025 (BSS) - Secretary of the Ministry of Health and 
Family Welfare Professor Dr Md Sayedur Rahman today visited the National 
Institute of Burn and plastic Surgery to see the injured in milestone plane 
crush tragedy.

A total of 16 plane crush injured students are undergoing treatment at the 
institute with two in critical situation. Of them 10 female students and six 
male students. 

The director of the institute Dr Md Nasir Uddin along with other physicians 
accompanied the secretary during the visit and briefed the overall situation.

Praising the efforts made the physicians of the institute, the health 
secretary urged the doctors to keep up the dedication toward works. 

After the plane crush in July 21, total 57 injured were brought to the 
institute of them 20 passed away, 20 have been released from the hospital, 
one patient undergoing treatment at the National Institute of Mental Health 
(NIMH) & Hospital and 16 are undergoing treatment at the National Institute 
of Burn and plastic Surgery, a press release from the ministry said.
