RU VC seeks full-length support for operating university successfully

RAJSHAHI, Sept 4, 2025 (BSS)- Rajshahi University Vice-chancellor (VC) Professor Saleh Hasan Naquib has sought full-length cooperation from all concerned to operate the university successfully and peacefully.

"We want to maintain proper academic atmosphere in the university and support of all quarters, including mass-media, has become an urgent need to attain the cherished goal," he said while addressing a press conference at RU senate building today to mark his one-year assumption of office.

Prof Saleh Naquib said there is no way but to turn the university as the hub of generating competent workforces to meet the national needs. To this end, "We are working relentlessly", he added.

Pro-VCs Prof Mayeen Uddin and Prof Farid Uddin Khan, Treasurer Prof Setaur Rahman and Registrar Prof Iftikharul Alam Masud also spoke.

Portraying his one-year major works, the VC said transparency and accountability has been established in the field of teachers' recruitment in the university as it's inevitable to generate competent manpower.
 
He said the election to Rajshahi University Central Students Union, Hall Council and Students Representatives to the Senate is going to be held on September 25 after a long gap of 35 years. 

Prior to this, RUCSU constitution has been time-fitting and a powerful and effective election commission was formed.

Election to Rajshahi University Alumni Association was also held for the first time this year in a festive mood.
 
For the first time in RU's history, admission test for the first year honours courses was held in Dhaka, Chattogram, Khulna and Rangpur this year successfully.
