Kazi Nazrul Islam propagated core ideals of all religions thro his writings: speakers

CHATTOGRAM, Sept 4, 2025 (BSS) - National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam propagated and preached core ideals of all religions through his writings, which mainly reflected in his poems and songs. 

Speakers at a discussion meeting and cultural function also viewed that apart from inspiring people of this sub-continent to join freedom struggle to free Indian sub-continent from the clutches of the then British colonial rule, the great revel poet’s writings are still playing an electrifying inspiring sources of motivating people to involve themselves in anti-autocratic and anti-fascist movements. 

Speakers also paid rich tribute to the memory of great revel poet Kazi Nazrul Islam for his outstanding contributions in enriching the Bangla literature through his popular songs on love, religious events and ideals, freedom struggle. 

They also loudly recalled the magnetic role of his pro-struggle and anti-oppressed songs in motivating and inspiring young generations to join historic July Uprising in 2024 that helped topple the fascist rule of Sheikh Hasina. 

Central President of Jatiya Sangskritic Mancha (JSM) and Nazrul Researcher Poet Mahmudul Hasan Nizami was the chief guest at the function held at Lusai Hall at Cheragi Hill area in the city today. 

JSM Chattogram chapter organized the function in commemoration of the 49th death anniversary of National Poet Nazrul. Chapter President Kamrul Huda presided over the function which was moderated by Lyrist Nazrul Islam. 

JMC Divisional President Poet M A Hashem, member of the Trustee Board of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Dipak Kumer Palit, writer and cultural activist Alamgir Noor, General Secretary of Chattogram Nagorik Forum Kamal Uddin , Jatiyatabadi Mohila Dal South District Unit President Zannatun Nayim Chowdhury Riku and Betar and TV Music Director Dilip Bharati and journalist  Saifuddin Mahmud Pintu, among others, took part in the discussion. 

The discussion followed by a cultural function and recitation of a number of Nazrul’s famous poems.
