KU VC stresses modern tools for world-class research

KHULNA, Sept 10, 2025 (BSS) - Khulna University (KU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Rezaul Karim emphasized the importance of acquiring skills in modern tools, database collection, and advanced research techniques to conduct world-standard research.

He said research must be impactful and globally competitive through multi-disciplinary collaboration and global networking.

The VC made the remarks as the chief guest at a session titled 'Research Process and Tools' held at the journalist Liakat Ali Auditorium on Tuesday afternoon, jointly organized by KU Research Society (KURS) and the research-based platform Research Mate.

Professor Karim noted that KURS is undertaking various initiatives to make students research-oriented, and publishing during academic life can help students pursue higher education abroad. He also highlighted KU's focus on addressing regional issues through research, adding that teaching assistants have been appointed in each discipline to support research activities.

KU Treasurer Professor Dr. Md Nurunnabi and Director of Student Affairs Professor Dr. Md Nazmus Sadat attended as special guests. Assistant Professor Md Azim of World University of Bangladesh presented the keynote.

KURS President Debashish Karmokar presided over the session. Later, a new KURS committee was announced with Chayon Bakshi as president and Gaur Munda as general secretary.
