CCC to carry out month-long awareness campaign on Breast Cancer

CHATTOGRAM, Sept 11, 2025 (BSS)- City Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain said 
Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) has drawn plans to carry out a month-long 
hectic awareness campaign in October to promote overall state of healthcare 
specially on Breast Cancer.
 
"To make the port city as healthy metropolis is one of the key promises that 
I have committed to the city dwellers," he said while speaking as chief guest 
at a ceremony to sign Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) amid to comprehensive 
sensitization programme throughout the city on the occasion of Breast Cancer 
Awareness Month in October next.
 
CCC inked the MoU with two private healthcare organisations which includes 
CSCR (Pvt.) Ltd and PGS Academia. The signing ceremony was held at CCC 
auditorium in the city this morning. 

City Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain, Managing Director of CSCR (Pvt.) Ltd Dr. 
Morsedul Karim Chowdhury and Vice-chairman of PGS Academia Professor Dr. 
Masud Karim signed the MoU on behalf of their respective sides.

According to the MoU, CCC along with other two partner organs will organize 
media talk shows, bring out processions, leaflet distributions and 
exhibitions involving students and teachers of schools and colleges of the 
city throughout the month of October to raise awareness about Breast Cancer.

The Mayor said concerted efforts are required to remove fear among the 
affected patients regarding breast cancer and aware them to get timely 
treatment. 

Daily Azadi Editor M A Malek, CCC Secretary Md. Ashraful Amin, Chief 
Education Officer Dr. Kissinger Chakma, Acting Chief Health Officer of the 
CCC Dr. Imam Hossain Rana, CSCR (Pvt.) Ltd. Chairman Dr. Khurshid Jamil 
Chowdhury and journalist Zahidul Karim Kochi were present, among others.

CSCR Hospital will offer free consultations to patients as part of the Breast 
Cancer Screening Programme throughout the month with 50 percent discount. 

Daily Azadi Editor M A Malek pledged his full support and will give special 
focus to disseminate the month-long campaign and awareness initiatives 
through Azadi.
