No new Covid-19 case reported in 24 hours

DHAKA, Sept 12, 2025 (BSS) - The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) today confirmed that no new Covid-19 infections were reported in the country over a 24-hour period from 8 am Wednesday to 8 am Thursday. 

A total of nine samples were tested during this period, yielding a positivity rate of 0 percent, according to a DGHS statement.

Moreover, no deaths from Covid-19 were recorded during this time.

So far this year, 15,652 samples have been tested, and a total of 730 individuals were diagnosed with Covid-19, of whom 32 have died. 

The cumulative death toll since the pandemic began in 2020 stands at 29,531. 

The first case of coronavirus in the country was detected on March 8, 2020. Ten days later, on March 18, the first death from the virus was reported in the country.
