600 poor eye patients treated in Joypurhat

JOYPURHAT, Sept 15, 2025 (BSS) - About 600 poor eye patients were treated by a group of doctors at a daylong free eye camp at Khetlal upazila of the district today.

The day-long eye camp was organized on Monday at the initiative of BRAC Microfinance Programme. 

After examination and treatment, patients from different areas were given medicines and glasses. Besides, over 100 patients were selected from the camp and sent to GUK Eye Hospital in Bogura for free cataract surgery. 

Specialist eye doctors provided treatments to the patients at the camp. 

Khetlal Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Md. Ali Hossain Shah, Bogura BRAC Divisional Coordinator (Lead Generation) Mohammad Idris Ali, Joypurhat District Coordinator Ariful Islam, Khetlal Area Manager Rezaul Karim and Bogura Regional Coordinator (Lead Generation) Hasan ul Kabir were present at the programme.
