No new COVID cases reported in 24 hours

DHAKA, Sept 19, 2025 (BSS) - The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) today reported that no new COVID-19 infections were recorded in the country over the past 24 hours, from 8 am Thursday to 8 am Friday.

During this period, a total of 11 samples were tested resulting in a zero percent positivity rate, according to a DGHS statement.

No deaths from COVID-19 were reported during the same period. The country's cumulative death toll from the virus since the outbreak began in 2020 remains at 29,531.

Bangladesh confirmed its first COVID-19 case on March 8, 2020 and recorded the first death from the virus ten days later, on March 18, 2020.
