Light to moderate rain likely in parts of country

DHAKA, Sept 22, 2025 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) forecast light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places across the country over the next 24 hours, beginning at 9:00 am today.

"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions," according to a bulletin issued by the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) this morning.

"Few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka and Sylhet divisions may witness the similar weather," it said with the anticipation of "moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions."

Day and night temperature may fall slightly over the country, the met office predicted.

Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay, it said, further adding that another low pressure area may form over east central Bay and adjoining North Bay around 24 September 2025 and it is likely to intensify.
  
On Sunday, the highest temperature recorded was 35.8 degrees Celsius in Mymensingh, while the lowest temperature was 24.0 degrees Celsius in Bandarban and Ramgati.

In Dhaka, the sun will set at 5:55 pm today and will rise at 5:48 am tomorrow.
