DHAKA, Sept 22, 2025 (BSS) - The names of 35 Dhaka University teachers have been published in the list of the world's best researchers by the famous Stanford University in the United States and the Netherlands-based publishing company 'Elsevier'.

It included the world's top 2% Scientists 2025 list, which is the highest in the country. Last year, 10 teachers from DU were included in this list, a DU press release said here today.

The list has been prepared based on the research papers published by the researchers, citations, H-index, consistency and the impact of co-authors. This recognition is a reflection of the university's strong position in the international research field and its growing influence in global knowledge practice, read the press release.

DU VC Prof Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan congratulated the teachers and researchers for being included in the list of the world's top scientists. He said, "This recognition not only highlights the extraordinary achievements of the teachers and researchers but also reflects Dhaka University's commitment to the development of knowledge and the creation of a fair environment for education. This achievement will play an important role in enhancing the reputation of Dhaka University and achieving excellence in education and research."

Despite various constraints, the current administration of the university is working to create a sustainable conducive environment for teachers and researchers. In line with this, various initiatives have been taken over the past year to encourage research and publication activities, increase international cooperation, and engage with global research organizations, he added.
