IEEE IU student branch gets new body

ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY, Kushtia, Sept 22, 2025 (BSS) - Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Islamic University (IU) branch has officially announced its executive committee for the 2025-26 session along with the new committees for IEEE computer Society and IEEE Engineering in Medical and Biology Society.

An official notice said, Burhan Joy has been appointed as the Chairperson and S.M. Sajjad Hossain Soykot as the Secretary of the branch. Besides, a 33-member executive body has been formed under their leadership.

Under this branch, two other societies have also announced their new executive committees. The IEEE Computer Society IU Student Chapter formed a 15-member committee with Md. Shahjada Sajid as Chairperson and Md. Julfikar Ali as Secretary. 

On the other hand, the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS) IU Student Chapter announced a 16-member executive body led by Md. Yeakub Ali as Chairperson and Tahmid Islam Akib as Secretary.

Founded in 1963, IEEE is the world’s largest professional organization of engineers, dedicated to advancing technology for humanity. 

IEEE IU branch gained its membership in 2019.
